Ghana Union Christmas Party Oslo, 28.12.2013

On behave of the Ghana Union; I would like to thank everyone for joining us tonight as we celebrate Christmas. 

11 months ago, a new Ghana Union executive was sworn into office to continue with the good works of our predecessors. 

We assumed office fully determined to improve upon what we inherited–to mobilise Ghanaians in Norway into a single massive and solid wall of resistance, of united mass action. Mobilisation requires genuine partnership between all the different players involved –the churches and other associations spread around the country – with recognition of what each player brings to help achieve a common purpose.  

I have always believed that success is possible only when it is built on the support and cooperation of others. Today, I am counting on your continued support, your commitment and your dedication to the essential work of the union.

We need to come together to build a formidable union. When there is oneness there is likely to be more strength in opinion, more strength in action, and more strength in character. There are moments when you know that you are part of something huge and something explosively amazing. Today is that day. I think if we stay together, we can effect change on issues that are very important to us. 

Ghana Union will strive for excellence. Striving for excellence involves trying to put quality into everything we do and set high standards for ourselves. Striving for excellence involves displaying a can do attitude even in demanding situations. Try to solve problems, rather than to pass them on to other people. First answer is “yes, I will make it happen.” We the executives are determined to make Ghana Union smile again.

Tonight is all about celebrating. Let`s capture some magical moments, let`s create happy memories and let`s surround ourselves with laughter and friendship as we celebrate this special occasion. May the love, joy and happiness of the season be with you this Christmas and the coming year.
